Dusk After Class [v0.1] [Munei Yi]
He doesn’t remember anything.
Not who he is. Not why his body is covered in scars. Not even what he’s supposed to do next.
All he knows is that he just came back from the war — but how he got there…
he’s thought about it for a long time, and still can’t figure it out.
No brothers in the yards. Not even wounded soldiers limping home from the front. It was as if every male had been erased from the world — except him.
No one told him why. No one told him why he was still alive.
The hospital patched up his body, then sent him to a school. Not as a student. As a homeroom teacher — and the only guardian — of a group of troubled girls.
The way they looked at him… was strange. Not grateful. Not curious. Something heavier. Something he couldn’t name.
It took him a while to understand. They were wounded too. Some had been abandoned.
Some had been hurt beyond recognition. Some hadn’t been truly seen in years. They weren’t bad kids. They were just… shattered.
He thought his job was just to walk with them for a while. To make sure none of them fell behind.
But then he sat down. Listened to their stories. Watched them cry. Sat quietly beside them. And something strange happened.
The girls began to change. Their trembling slowly stopped. The thorns in their eyes softened, one by one.
The way they looked at him shifted — from guarded to trusting, from trusting to… something he couldn’t put into words.
He could feel the cracks inside them, slowly being filled by something.
And at the same time… he realized that the barren land inside his own heart had quietly started to grow something too.
He didn’t know it then — but everything he had lost… was being found again, piece by piece, hidden in the eyes of those girls.
This is a story about saving someone. And also about discovering that the one being saved… is never alone.
