Gameplay
  • Various nerfs to enemies.
  • Reduced the amount of items stolen during a certain boss fight.
  • Enemy behavior overhauled based on Caly’s speed and presence around them.
  • Added flash lights to enemies.
  • Enemies now feature drop shadows. Exception being summoned items by the player example being: turrets and player model itself.
  • Multiple changes to 100+ skills and states ranging from major to minor adjustments. Subject to change based on player feedback.
  • Fixed the Simon Says animation not resetting properly when the round ended.
  • Fixed Caly’s Regret freezing in rare instances towards the end of battle.
  • Fixed an unintended issue where players were able to use an item outside of combat.
  • All scopes are fixed. Now applying range extensions as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where skill animations that target an enemy got displayed on a specific spot, even if the enemy moved away from it.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies were behaving in a suicidal manner when targeting themselves with offensive skills.
Audio
  • Fixed the audio behavior of movie files in the engine. Turning the music up and down will now also affect cinematic audio.
  • Voice acting option ON or OFF will now also work on the Cinematic.
  • Fixed the controlling system for ambience sounds. They are now governed by audio settings and can be adjusted at will. Further tweaks were made to suppress the irritating continuations of some.
  • Fixed 3D audio system where panning sound would play in unintended scenarios resulting in distortion, peaking and muffled sounds.
Technical
  • Raycasting overhauled. Example: Doors block flashlights but will not do so if open.
  • Added an additional hotkey to both keyboard/gamepad to toggle the player’s flashlight. The F key on the keyboard or the right stick on the controller is the default.
  • Fixed performance issues with lighting. Expected 30% FPS gains across the board.
  • Fixed older save issues where weapon values didn’t sync correctly due to a discrepancy between older settings and newer changes.
  • Changed mouse behavior on the title and main menu. Previously two clicks were required to have an option active. It’s now been tweaked to one click resulting in smoother option navigation.
Issues that still persist
  • Attempt was made to fix an issue where the engine would randomly fail to execute the intended range of a skill/weapon and instead open up inventory. Investigation ongoing.
  • An issue has been identified where player summoned items sometimes multiply in excessive quantities due to random reasons. Investigation ongoing.

Critical Plugin Fixes

  • Complete Revamp of Combat for both trash and boss encounters.
Please note, the new combat revamp has now been extended from Tripteen to Xaide dungeon as well! This mean players will have a much better time acclimating to the new combat system, so you’re highly encouraged to revisit the dungeons to test it out for yourself!

– Removed snap for background and replaced it with an empty bitmap to resolve the “resolution” crash.
– Change particle setting options to off, min, max. Min will reduce the maximum amount of particles of each emitter to half, and doubled the wait duration of particle spawning in order to improve performance.
– Added Map Animation setting. Setting it to “Off” will set all animated parallax to be static images instead, while “Min” will have them skip every second frame and double the wait duration between frames.
– Updated the CacheManager to have it keep assets from a minimum of 3 maps to avoid unnecessary loading time. (There will still be lags when transitioning between maps/scenes, which is due to textures uploading to the GPU. We’re currently still working on a solution for this).
– Forced the game to always launch in WebGL mode through the Community_Basic plugin.
– All animated parallaxes have been split.

  • Based on player feedback, game intro has been revisited, resized and reduced to counter player fatigue due to “Wall of Text” syndrome. Players will now feel closer to playing a RPG/VN with “to the point” conversations, rather than reading a Light Novel with large text dumps.
Technical Changes:
  • Cinematic completely revamped with High Def video elements. Player can also choose to skip them if they so desire by pressing “Shift” key.
  • New custom elements and plugins added to the engine effectively expanding new capabilities, some of which will be discussed in later patches. 
  • Heavy polishing and optimization rendered to make the new plugins mesh properly with the old ones for the sake of smoother game experience.
  • Experimentation with partial Voice Acting. Caly’s character will now audibly exclaim her emotions in certain scenarios. Very limited implementation however and player can disable it if they so desire, though we’d be grateful for your feedback on VA’s performance.
  • Memory leaks patched after some players reported crashes under certain system specs.
  • Enemy AI re-scripted. Bots will now move unpredictably and players will have to adjust strategy on turn by turn basis.
  • This effectively finishes the demo and officially upgrades the game from Alpha to Beta.

  • “Remember” command in menu options is non-functional.
  • “Mods” on weapons are currently disabled. You can still install them but they will provide no stat benefits.

Due to how heavily customized VoidBound’s RPGM Engine is, we regularly deploy prototypical codeworks with each new patch deployment. The reason for doing so is to closely observe and evaluate game performance for maximum optimization.  As such, presently, due to the project being a Work In Progress, we DO NOT recommend or provide support to players who employ tools like MTools or Hex Editors that inject themselves into the game to execute their intended functions. Not only might it lead to an unstable game experience but, as we’re unfamiliar with the inner working of these tools, providing any guidance for any errors caused by these programs, will be beyond our ability.
In short, do not use any and if you do, do so at your own risk/discretion.

Currently,  gallery is accessible by using the Gallery Teleporter in your inventory. But it’s not available right off the bat! You need to clear the “Mind Dungeon” first for it to becoming accessible. It’s the dungeon after Xaide/Mushroom Planet.
PS: This is just a temporary system for gallery exhibition. It’s subject to change in the game’s final version.
