Grassmere Introduction

(inside Chapter 1, compatible with previous saves, while some conversations will make less sense in that case)

-Grassmere Arrival Scenes

-First Freeroam conversation and events (Rest will be on 0.30 Release (next major release after 0.25). Grassmere conclusion will come with 0.30.

-All Grassmere Resource trading and inversion (can be resource hungry!).

-Content on Grassmere is sparse as is only the intro (around more than half hour for everything), But all freeroam Code is ready for 0.30 so that’s a headstart. Also, many variant scenes on already existent renders will be added.

Important Changes

Since the start of Chapter 1, you can visit Penketh and Grassmere. Kaelkirk and Hartlepool still won’t be available until you finish Chapter 1, getting the loyalty of Penketh (that is as before, but now getting max affinity is possible in each path, with different rewards on each path).

New Features:

-Fully fledge Playing Tips. Playing tips (if the option is on) will open a pop up menu with the relevant information about general gameplay (and some strategies) during Chapter 1. You can still check all the playing tips at your leisure accessing from Menus.

The playing tips are meant to explain All mechanics to players that had not followed all BFL development.

-Fully fledged Loyalty System. You will be able to see your current loyalty from two out of the four possible game wide loyalties.(Menu is a bit WIP, but functional)

Resources:

-Beyond 0.24 new resources exchanges and conversions, these tips are important for last versions:

-Second unit of wood can be turned into paper if Leffrin wood wasn’t used (only one unit of paper can be produced on Leffrin, one unit of wood will be always used for Akros Manor progress).

-More Resources conversion have been added (Like Pelts in to Leather or Unused Meat Shipments after Hartlepool conclusion into extra Food Provisions)

-An additional cost for adquiring Red Silk is having finished Seiki Quest or have “gained some trust” with the Silk traders “in other way”.

-There are now two wilcard items (one new) for humor boosts with specific people. For example, Gold Tunstead Wine can be gifted either to Baralis, Belinda or Tsveta, for different quantity of humor boosts. (you’ll know the possible gain before taking the decision of making the gift).

-Temporarly, you can’t name the saves. (but all the Load Preview Data should help with that)

Known Bugs:

-Some sprites (Lia and Emilia) may dissapear on Gypsy Camp after Minerva Day Scene. Doesn’t affect gameplay.

Important Known bug:

You can’t opt out from unity analytics or the game won’t start. (if you opt out after the game start, next time you try to start the game it won’t start).

You can fix it by deleting the game playerprefs variables, that is done like this:

deleting contents on windows registry with regdit in this adress: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWARESeventhVixenBattleforLuvia.

Big Performance Improvements:

-Overall. Less menu glitches, better general performance.

-Incorporation of Intro, Prologue, Leffrin and Penketh to the Addressable system, meaning next Steam versions downloads will have less weight, and with corresponding VRAM savings. None of those scenes consume more than 1gb of VRAM. Hartlepool is still a bit of an VRAM eater.

In 0.19 a little engine update introduced a really bad bug about humor changes, so real value changes didn’t were what were supposed to be. That’s why Baralis for example gave problems. That bug basically rendered some story progression hard or impossible to get.

-Mina prologue anims fixed

Location Headers left on screen if travelling out too fast

Fixed Robin progression on all paths and options (there were some specific blocks on very specific paths and choices). Also some little fixes in all Penketh paths.

Loading game Preview info: It will now show Patrik’s stats and Baronnies Affinity when hovering over a saved game, as well as some Save defining choices made (like penketh or hartlepool paths taken)

Relations Menu: Now there is a numeric value to know exactly character’s humor. Added some missing characters

Font Switch: You can now choose between the classic BFL font or an Easy Read Font (Only on cutscene settings menu. It has its caveats in order to activate it, if interested, read the instructions in game.

Hidden Text chaged:-When Hiding text (H), it will automatically unhide when a new dialogue appears. I’ve not put an option to cancel this, ’cause the Hide text feature only provokes false bug reports if leave it as before.

Many conversations recoded to improve future coding. (Testing warning! check everything)

Kaelkirk Main Quest complete:

Once Vael gave you the quest (that you probably got earlier), head to Duston villa’s forest. Along your quest, you’ll “replay” some scene various times. Don’t skip them for the second and third time at least, as the text changes significantly. It is a little wit puzzle to solve… And probably you will be entertained during it.

Main Story finish when reporting to Irena.

Chapter 2 Penketh Finished.

(Dexter introductory scenes, more Robin scenes, Full market, Full church interactions and unique scenes)

Chapter 2 Gypsy Camp Finished

(Lia, Emilia and Minerva Progression)

(To continue, taking in consideration you have progressed already at max possible level, talk with Emilia. Progressing in the gypsy quest will take you to Kaelkirk too). Knowing how to progress is easy. With this update, only a final progression (that will be included as extra content in the next updates) with Minerva will be available in chapter 2.

Technical/Others:
New mechanic: Game tracks if is an Odd or Even day. This will allow a bit more complexity on lively places. For example, in up to date progress with Robin, robin will be at the tavern during day time on Even days.(Less extenuating than a full week schedule). So when finally all Robin scenes will be available, on odd days she’ll be in the market, and in even days in the tavern.Will be helpfull when some Hubs become quite busy with characters.

New humor mechanic: Sometimes you’ll get Plus or Minus humor with someone without a direct conversation option; That’s because that result is the accumulation of several previous conversations options (So a plus can be given with 2 of 3 “correct” answers, for example.

More Applied mechanics: It already happened before, but it will more common now as we keep progressing advancing in the story; high stats (400+) will often change Sir Patrik dialogue. After Chapter 2, beyond Path stats, Path Choices taken will affect important options, but we’re not there yet.

If you feel like you’re doing something wrong, like only have 300 lewdness when trying to unlock something of 400 lewdness+…. Unique lewdness gains go up to more than 700! That means you have a lot of scenes you haven’t seen or willingly refused.

Big Documents update: 90% non-updated documents finally filled, and many secrets unveiled (the oldest, oldest savegames, may lack many documents that are given on start a new game since some updates ago, but visiting Penketh will give you the missing documents).

PS:-Also good for refreshing lore when returning to the Luvian marches-

Current engine changes:

-Saving is now handled by a different CPU thread in order to not lag the game while saving (autosaving, etc)

-CPU multithreading to help performance.

0.19.f Engine Update:

It is only an Unity Engine update before coding starts on 0.20. New players should play this version in order to find problems with the engine before 0.20 release. One performance improvement included is Autosaving and Saving using a separate CPU thread in order to not lag the game.

-Vram fixes to allow Hartlepool, Pirate Cove & Remember Scenes to be playable on older graphics cards.

-Integration of new video-based animations instead of unity-frame animations (This have four effects, integration of more specific sounds for every animation, lower vram consumption, lower HD space consumption, and as I replace older animation with videos, lower general vram consumption for all the game, as well as longer frame animations on the animations yet to be remastered).

-Big UI reshape, closer to the final looks of the game. Also with the start of the Tooltip system. -Added the Duke Tier January-February Scene Commission to the Unlocks menu. Is the first on Alternate Realities scenes (that means that that scene may or may not really exist in the canon of the game, character personalities may be different, or other implausible events.) For now is automatically unlocked to everyone, but maybe in the future I make it unlockable during gameplay.

Game Engine: -Now Dialogue Boxes can be hidden with H key! Game can advance while keeping the text hidden by normal click-thru, so press H again to unhide the boxes.

Closed Beta 0.11a –

Summary:

-This update is focused on Story and some Side characters updates, is not a gameplay update.

That means there is no hundreds of new interactions, conversations… But there is the foundation of a new big zone to explore with introductory scenes and some new sidequests introductory scenes.

Gameplay time for new content is around 1 hour, more if seeing different Path approaches to Robin.

On the other hand, this also means that for next update I will have time to only focus on content and gameplay.

Specific Data:

Total current lines of text: 6091 (5100 on version 0.10)

More than 750 new renders. (counting with the 0.11d)

New talking portraits: 235 (for 10 new talking characters, 2 new patrik dress code, and some remastered portraits)

Current talking characters count: 58

What is updated:

-Hartlepool is open, first introductory scenes for new quests are to be found.

-136 renders for main story events

-68 renders for 2 new side quests

-55 renders for locations

Chapter One Core Robin Update:

-Now Robin is accessible in all Penketh Paths. Most unique different approachs are Dead and Friendly Path, but you’ll unlock all cenes on all paths.

-Interaction/Conversation Root with Robin Added

-Tavern updated with new interactivity.

-Added 250 Robin renders (inclunding Tavern renders + Baralis friendly path renders)

-Other things:

Mina now will unblock after some days after Status Quo Last Supper Choice.

Remasters:

–Katerina Initial Contact -(Changed Animation System, 32 new renders remastered (2 animations))

-Liliana’s Visit– Changed Animation System, All scenes except ending remastered, added 6 animations: (80 new Renders)

–Skip Prologue Addded for faster replays.

-Added Remember system to view non-repeteable scenes (Liliana & Alana for now)

-Game Engine Improvements:

-Added Text Scroll Speed <— Useful for all reading needs, and specially useful for Hands Free mode working well.

Developer Notes:

0. Check the Quest Tracker and Romance Menu to know that you’ve seen all available content! There may be more stuff a bit hidden, tho… (The Romance menu is being deprecated for a new system but works for the 90% of the game).

Small FAQ:

1. For those who want to know before hand , playtime (mainstory, side stories, and side minor romances) is more than 12 hours for a single gameplay. (as 0.15). (It has multiple branching paths of higher or lesser consequences, also different options to take about the war management part of the game that doesn’t have still an impact until Chapter 3). The important choices present in Chapter One are not branching the end of the game, but the way you go to there)

About game engine:

1-The game includes two fast modes and a hands free mode, they are welcomed due replayability. More text speed options are added, too.

2-Prologue is linear and a bit lengthy, but is the prologue for all of the future game so it need to be. Game autosaves and let you manually in some points of it tho.. Beyond the Prologue, you are in “freeroam mode” and you will always have lots of chances to save, and non-important cutscenes are not long.

Some tips about what type of game is:

1-In public posts in the patreon there are various little first in-depths of focuses of the game, good reading for knowing about the mechanics of the game.

2-The Long intro plus prologue may give the sensation that you’re in front of a linear VN, but is just setting well the tone and diverse aspects of the story and the Main character. This is not a VN, is a game more akin to a graphic adventure in gameplay or even a RPG., but with familiar elements of some freeroam VNs.

Do not expect to know the outcome that your choices will have 10 hours later the first time you play. Do not expect to understand all the systems and mechanics the first time you play. Just play and enjoy, if you’re in for the girls they’re not usually locked away behind choices. I do not recommend following a walktru the first time you play, you can find your way just reading the game, journals, and quest tracker with ease.

3-“Main romantic interests”, or Romantic Interest in specific woman, appears progressively along chapter two. They are not the goal of the game, but they will be worked stories that can help some paths of achieving other goals. As an additional note, You may see in the Romances Panel faded icons of pregnancy and marriage, those are not to be considered specially there for “kinks” or “goals”, but more as story progression mechanics.

4- I love, love to render sex, so the game is full and will be full of it, even if is not the main goal of the game. (there are already between 200 and 300 sex animations)

Recommended System Specifications:

I put this little recomendations for those who have problems:
Game has a Frame Cap set to 90 that should make the game not go crazy on very new nor old systems).

CPU: i3-i5 should go fine. For me it barely uses 20% of an i5 old CPU.

Having problems? Close other programs, Windows leechers like Superfecth, Live windows defender protection, etc).

When loading levels it can peek to max CPU use for some seconds; If you’re multitasking and clicking on the game at the same time, and maybe using Fast Speed Modes, it could be a reason for a crash.

RAM: 2gb of free RAM
(Having issues? close google tabs etc. Some google tabs can eat 4 gb of RAM easy, so if you only have 8GB or something like that thing about it)
Graphic Cards: From 2 to 6 gb (right now) of VRAM (graphic cards).
Having problems? Close other hardware accelerated programs while running the game.
I know “up to 5 gb of VRAM” sounds like a lot, but sorry, it’s my first long game and I’ve make errors planning how it works. Right now as 0.15 I know where the problem is and I’ll fix it.
