Overview:
Serial:Code is an Open-World RPG Eroge made in the Ren’Py engine.
Serial:Code takes place in the not-so-distant future, in the city of Valrow – a metropolis on the verge of dystopian collapse, ruled by powerful corporations. Enter a transhumanist realm and unravel the secrets of the past, confront the challenges of the present, and determine the course of the future.

- Fixed Ruby wearing incorrect clothes when commanded
- Fixed wrong battery cost indicator on the Analyze hack
- Fixed corruption interactions still raising hearts with Ruby

Going forward, hearts will generally be only obtainable through romance routes/interactions.
- Blue Dreams: You can progress slightly further down the ‘Blue Dreams’ questline.
- Mari Content: New Mariko content added, 2nd heart is now obtainable
- Intelligence Skill Tree: Please note that skill trees are work-in-progress, perks can change drastically and be removed entirely throughout the development.
- Loot system added: Enemies have a small chance to drop consumable items. Drops from this general loot table will always show up on the last slot of the victory screen.
- Materials added: Enemies now have a chance to drop crafting and upgrade materials. Drops from the Material loot table will always show up as the first 4 slots of the victory screen. Requires the ‘Synthetics’ perk in Intelligence skill tree.
- Apartment Expansion added: You can commision expansion of the apartment, this expansions adds Armory. Armory includes crafting and upgrading. Currently, only upgrading is enabled.
- New Location – Library: Located next to the Armitage Academy. Research required. Available Day 4+
- New Side Quest: There was an accident at the library.
- New Character: New minor character added
- New Bladed weapon: Push Daggers, low critical chance but body shots attack twice per turn. 15% Headshot chance, but attacks only once.
- Battery indicator redesign: Battery indicator has a new look and works properly now, each battery charge is represented by a segment.
- Victory screen: Added a new victory screen. Contains number of turns it took to beat your opponent and a loot window.
- Added loot tables: Please note; some enemies do not drop loot.
- End of Content warning: End of content warning has been implemented. Once you reach the end of content for the version you’re on, the objective will read [End of Content in the current version.]
- Supporter Program: All wallpapers have been moved to a new dedicated ‘Customize’ page. Accesible through the computer.
- QuickView: QuickView added to the landing page of Codex. The landing page now shows a quick overview of your progress. Shows stats, their maximum achievable level in the current version, and hovering over a stat gives you a hint on how to level up that skill. Also shows Faction ranks and hints on how to increase Faction rank.
- Gear Swapping: While swapping lethal weaponry, the weapons are filtered inside the inventory window instead of a separate window that used to show up over the holographic player model.
- File Size: Game’s size has been reduced further. All background png files were converted to WebP at 95% fidelity. Reduction in quality should not be noticeable, but the size has been greatly reduced.
- Menu transitions: Sped up menu transitions, this should make the UI feel less clunky and more responsive.
- Browser Research: Some leads that you’ve already researched at the computer will be moved to ‘Previous Searches’ after they’re finished. Clutter reduction.
- AuraLink settings: AuraLink settings no longer exit the settings completely when you cancel out of a category.
- Bounty Rewards: Low Hazard bounties will pay out less credits on average.
- Accuracy adjusted: Weapon Accuracy has been adjusted.
- Supporter Program: New Live wallpaper: Mariko Main Menu has been added to the supporter program, together with the new Riley Spotlight wallpaper.
- Weapon descriptions: Reworded some weapon descriptions.
- Scrollbars: Scrollbars have a new, less obnoxious design.
- Fixed ellipses: Some incorrect ellipses now have 33% more periods.
- Rooftop is accessible from the appartment navigation menu
- Fixed a bug that would let the player open AuraLink menus from the Map screen
- Fixed a bug that would break appartment computer, when closed while an app was running
- Fixed a bug that made ‘Analyze’ hack go wild when used on Sovern
- Fixed 2 menus at the Black market that would jump back into wrong categories
- Fixed a couple of visual bugs
- Fixed damage not calculating properly in some circumstances
- Fixed wrong notifications during some ‘Run Errands’ events

- Mariko’s Request: Mariko might have a little request for you. Content accessible after she’s done researching your shard.
- Mariko’s First Heart: You can earn Mariko’s first heart.
- New Special Bounty: Sovern the Psychmage has been causing issues for the Ceres corporation, they want her – preferably alive. Available at the bounty board, upon reaching EVCO Faction Rank 20+.
- Ruby’s missing: Crack this puzzling mystery once you reach Ruby’s corruption 7 or greater. Not available on weekends.
- Blue Dreams: You can progress slightly further down the ‘Blue Dreams’ questline. (Day 6+) the next time you wake up, Mariko will give you a rundown on what she found out.
- Added Hacking support for enemies: Some enemies can now use hacking, albeit a slightly simplified version.
- New Ability [GhostShift]: Dodge equivalent against Hacking. Using Ghost costs 1 battery charge per use.
- New Hack [Analyze]: Unlocked with level 4 hacking. Shows detailed info about the enemy. + Whatever other information can be found about them. Costs 1 battery charge, casts instantly, turn is not used.

- Added Power Rank: This stat keeps track of your relative combat power and influence. Located in the Statistics screen. Increases with all other stat increases (Current Cap – 6)
- Added Faction Rank: This stat helps keep track of your progress in the faction. Currently available for EVCO. This stat is raised by doing jobs and tasks for the faction. (Cap – ∞)
- Mariko Main Menu: Mariko will gladly accompany you on your journey to the ‘Load Game’ button. Can be changed in settings.
- Gallery Redesign: Small gallery redesign. Less clutter. More streamlined.
- Added new combat music
- Removed some placeholders: To prevent confusion, I’ve removed some placeholder options.
- Stim+ available at the Black Market: Stim+ can be purchased at the Black Market. Costs 2000 Credits. Erika will still provide 1 Free Stim+ per week if you have none.
- Adblock Moved: Removed adblock from interaction menu, now it’s a dedicated button. To prevent future clutter.
- Alert Notification: Added animated text
- Changed outlines of character names
- Fixed a couple bugs in the combat system.
- Optimized the combat system to be a bit more efficient.
- Various general optimizations
- The early access version 0.2 contained 2 minor bugs:
Bug #1: If you pressed ENTER on the supporter program screen, new game would be started. This was a code typo, fixed now. (Also added copy-paste support to the supporter program input field.)Bug #2: This bug is quite rare and I doubt anyone encountered it. If you skipped Ruby’s tutorial fight, and went straight to Erika’s office, the game would crash due to a missing variable. Fixed.
- STATS button on the AuraLink heads up display is now labeled MAIN
Statistics screen now contains Main Menu button next to the Exit button, for android support. This is not an optimal solution and I’m looking into better ways to access main menu on android. - General changes to make the UI work on Android
This is an ongoing process and the UI will be further optimized based on the feedback
- East Valrow Contracting Office has rebranded: This change also brought in redesign of the EVCO office building to be more corporate friendly.
- New Character added: Erika Friedrich (EVCO, Erika’s Office)
- Weekly bounty contracts are now available at the Contracting office: Four bounties are available each new week. Refreshed every Monday.
- New Location Navigation System: Currently implemented in the Appartment and EVCO
- EVCO/Contracting Office Rework: Short 1 period jobs previously known as ‘Contracts’ have been renamed to ‘Run Errands’. Functionally they’re the same, 1 period simple jobs with no risks, low payout and random events. ‘Run Errands’ and ‘Bounties’ are both available under the menu option ‘Work’
- New Ruby command interaction for NTR+ enabled players: 2 scenes (Normal bunny suit version + Reverse bunny suit version)
- Relationships rework: Split up corruption and love which was previously represented with the same meter. Slight rework in how love, corruption and ntr-related metres are calculated. Upon launching save from 0.1 the game will patch the old save to be compliant with the new standard.
- Added Factions info to the codex
- Added purchasable ammo to the Black Market
- Added reactive combat sprites: Combat encounters now feature reactive enemy sprites.
- Supporter Program added
- Autodefeat contextual button has been replaced by static skip turn button: I’ve decided against including defeat scenes FOR NOW. Sorry for the inconvenience. Will be revisited in the future.
- Reworked character interaction menus to be less confusing and more straightforward: Removed conditional talks that had no purpose and moved them to the talk option.
- One scene had to be removed.
- Added Android Build
- Files have been losslessly compressed: Reduced file size, with no visual quality loss. Images have been optimized to use space more efficiently.
- Removed unused future assets from the build: All unused future assets have been removed from the build to reduce size. This was done on accident in the previous build. Soz.
- Fixed a couple of minor UI issues
- Fixed a bug where mouse cursor would stay invisible after rolling back from aim option during combat
- Fixed catgirl clicker leaving screens shown after quick computer shutdown
- Fixed credits not deducting when repaying Mariko the 1000 credit debt
- Optimized the menu parallax effect for better performance
- Fixed a visual issue that made the choice menu leave the screen in some instances
- Fixed incorrect description of the Nomad class shard
- Fixed visual issues in the settings menu
- Fixed the “quick_menu not defined” bug when playing through JoiPlay
- Fixed a bug in which player did not receive extra battery charges upon Hacking level up from Mariko’s final test
- Fixed the relationship meters not working correctly
- Fixed a couple typos
