The Fosters [v1.01] [_13_]

Big John can’t get it up and he’s gay. He’s not touching “your” girls. Linda isn’t a love interest. You can rape her in her sleep, if that’s your thing, but don’t complain when you get punished for it. You don’t have to work for anyone. Don’t want to work for Big John? No problem, it doesn’t happen. Want to work for Big John? Too bad, you never get the opportunity. Will all of the girls be safe? From who? From other men? Yes, always. From you? Depends on how much of an asshole you are.
There, you happy with yourself? Can you be safe in your little life, knowing that an imaginary man isn’t going to hurt the girl you like?

So, here’s the deal with the points. They may not seem like what you expect from alpha and beta behaviors, and you’d be correct for the actual philosophical definitions of alpha behaviors. However, many of the people who consider themselves to be alphas are warping the behavioral characteristics. Where the behaviors include self-sufficiency, pride, and ambition, many turn to selfishness. Where there should be inner strength and boldness, they become bullies. These individuals completely ignore the inner reflection, learning from mistakes, and most importantly, putting the tribe first. This is what Jack has observed throughout his life, both in person and through the media he consumes.

Jack’s points are being awarded based on behaviors he has seen being attributed to alphas and betas (which are also warped). Remember who his male “role-model” has been for most of his life. Much like what he may think is acceptable behavior with women is warped by his past, so is his idea of how a man should act and treat others.

The Fosters Song Hunt!
Chapter 5, subtitled The Musical, is full of song lyrics. Some are sung by a character and others are thrown into the dialogue and narration. Sometimes the words are straight from a song and sometimes they’re slightly different, but still recognizable. Your task is to find the song references and lyrics in Chapter 5. If you can find them all, there will be great* prizes available!

And that’s all of the ones I intentionally added. These are the lines that the lyrics started on, some of them went multiple lines and some of them were by more than one person. For example, #34 had lyrics said by Big John over 4 different lines and #13 starts with Elena and continues with the next narrated line. You can probably tell, I was getting tired of adding the lyrics as the chapter went on. It really was extra work for some of them, finding places for lyrics to fit or changing what I had written into lyrics. I think overall I enjoyed it, but I don’t think I’ll do that again.
