A Neon Fallacy is an adult urban life-sim and visual novel set in Fairview—a rain-soaked city where money, desire, loyalty, and survival are rarely separate things.
You play as Dex, a young man trying to rebuild his life while navigating complicated relationships, dangerous opportunities, and the consequences of his own decisions. Explore the city, meet its residents, take jobs, manage your time, money, and energy, and gradually establish your place within Fairview’s shifting social and criminal landscape.
The current alpha includes the opening storyline, apartment and housemate content, the DexPhone, city exploration, relationship progression, missions, inventory management, repeatable work, and the foundations of several business and economy systems.
A Neon Fallacy is still in active development. Future updates will expand the story, relationships, locations, adult content, businesses, and the long-term consequences of Dex’s choices.
NTR/NTS is avoidable.

Build Notes

– Windows build now ships as EXE + PCK. Extract both files into the same folder before launching.

– Keeping the PCK separate reduced the Windows archive size to about 284 MB, over 50% smaller than the previous Windows archive despite the larger media library.

– macOS build is also available as a complete app bundle.

– macOS build is unsigned/unnotarized, so Mac users may need to right-click the app and choose Open on first launch.

– District map overhaul is planned for later and is not part of v0.0.3.

– Some future direct private-scene and business-loop media is already queued but not fully built out yet.

Developer Notes:

This is still an early alpha, but A Neon Fallacy is no longer only testing the opening hour.

v0.0.4 expands the Central Slums with the redesigned district map, the first major Meridian pressure arc, deeper businesses, directional relationships, repeatable apartment parties, surveillance and evidence systems, rebuilt job minigames, keyboard controls, 10 save slots, and a much larger collection of dedicated story and adult media.

The most useful feedback now is about progression, clarity, and whether the larger systems keep working over several in-game weeks:

Could you understand the current objective, where to go, and which action advanced it?
Did repeatable events such as apartment parties and room visits return when expected, or disappear permanently?
Did relationship roles, boundaries, jealousy, and exclusivity behave the way their settings suggested?
Did the job minigames feel responsive with both mouse and keyboard controls?
Did any dialogue choice, mission action, or location button overlap, get cut off, or become impossible to reach?
Did money, energy, rent, or business expenses create an unfair softlock?
Did any scene show missing, repeated, stretched, or incorrect artwork or video?
Did save/load remain reliable after several days or weeks of play?

For bug reports, please include the in-game day/week, location, what you were trying to do, whether the save began in this version, and a screenshot or save file if possible. That information makes progression bugs much easier to reproduce.

Naomi and Melinda remain the deepest direct relationship routes in this build. Much of the supporting cast is still expanding, East Ward is not yet a complete playable district, and long-term balance will continue to change.

A new game is recommended for v0.0.4. Older saves may load, but alpha save compatibility is not guaranteed after major system changes.

NTR/NTS content remains avoidable through relationship and boundary choices. All characters shown in adult content are fictional adults aged 18 or older.

Alpha saves are not guaranteed to work across future builds.
