I think it’s about time I put this game on hold for now. There’s still been progress for the next chapter, but between my mom being sick, a new relationship (and looking at moving in together) and a brand new job that has me sat in front of a computer all day everyday, it’s just not feasible to keep this project open in such a manner. It has not been abandoned though, and I will continue to get work done when I have the time, but it will be slow. I appreciate everyone who has enjoyed it so much up until now and I will return with bigger and better content in the future!

Developer Notes:

I’ve decided to make some changes to the earlier chapter so it better reflects my work. I read every comment on here and Patreon and have thoroughly appreciated the feedback. Upon reflecting on some of the criticism of chapter 1 I received I made some retroactive changes that I think better reflect the character himself. So if you’ve already played through chapter 1 and don’t wish to replay through it, read on:

From now on, rather than simply being bought out, the MC was framed for embezzlement and away for 10 years. I think this sets a more realistic precedent. I also made some pacing changes. While the ex-wife Elena is still present I scaled back the amount of screen time she has. Ultimately she’s an unimportant character who’s departure largely serves to push the MC out of his comfort zone and down the path towards his revenge/reconciliation. Lastly I gave more option for the players to choose to ignore Maddie. While she is still integral to the plot, you won’t need to have any interaction with her beyond that. I wanted that choice to sit more squarely in the player’s hands in the same way all future chapters will work. I think ultimately the pacing and character development will be far more cohesive and won’t break your suspension of disbelief.

My mom has recently been diagnosed with cancer so I hit some massive slow downs getting this part and will likely take a little bit of time off baring any glitches anymore might happen to find (I doubt there are any, but just on the off chance) but will get back to work on chapter 3 promptly, have no doubt about that!
