You wake up in a smoke-filled room. You have no recollection of who you are or how you ended up here. A woman is seated at a table in front of you. Underneath her broadbrimmed hat, she gives you a smile that shows no mirth.

Futaboros is a dark fantasy roguelike about a nameless futanari trapped in an infinite loop. Learn skills, encounter depraved enemies and explore the sunless world of The Ouroboros. Will you reclaim your lost memories? Or will you succumb to despair?

- Every skill in the game now has an animation

- The visual novel scenes of the game were lacking in visual flair, so this update aims to make them less static

- Each act uses a different pool of skills, so the skills you find in Act 2 will be stronger than in Act 1
- This is to ensure a gradual escalation of power without giving the player more skill slots and energy
- These skills also feature new buffs/debuffs
- Certain skills can appear in multiple acts

- Various characters in the game now build up a pool of topics they’ll discuss at random
- They may also make commentary on specific skills or sentiments you’ve acquired

GUI CHANGES/ADDITIONS

Main font has been replaced
- The old font, as fancy as it was, wasn’t very legible
- The new font should both be easier on the eyes AND it supports multiple languages
Main menu changes
- Now features credits
- New animations for when you click on a button and when you quit the game
Slightly reduced the transparency of tooltips for buffs and skills
- This should ensure that tooltips are more legible at the lowest possible resolution

GRAPHICS

Adjusted the breathing animation of enemies
The screen now shakes slightly when dealing/receiving damage
Added some additional particle effects

BUG FIXES

Fixed a bug where an event could be encountered multiple times in the same run

Demo v2

Fixed corruption not updating
Fixed Thunderclap’s icon not appearing with Memory of a Mage
Fixed the yellow jester’s event not duplicating a skill
Fixed an error with the succubus event not displaying her name, along with some minor text edits
Fixed a hard crash from letting an enemy die from Doom
Music now fades out upon winning a battle
Fixed Sanctuary not giving block on ending your turn
Fixed Mighty Meek giving significantly more might/protection than it should have (it was also giving multiple instances of +1 Might/Protection, which is not the intended function)
Mighty Meek also nerfed slightly (one third of your basic/starter skills, rather than one half)
Removed the pauses from the Succubus, Tentacles, defeat and datzmoni h-scenes

Something special happens when your corruption exceeds 25% by the way.

Hello everyone. The demo for my latest game, Futaboros, is now available to play. It’s a dark fantasy roguelike about a nameless futanari searching for her memories. I’ve been learning to program in Godot during 2024 and it’s opened up a number of a lot of new possibilities for me.
