In the A-4 fan disc, there is a point in the story where Momoyo is asked by Ryuuzouji “Are you not into guys?“, to which she responds with:
“Well, I wouldn’t say I’m homosexual or anything…” in the original Japanese script.
The translator translated that line as: “Nah, I’m bi.“
…because he thought that the original line sounded “homophobic” in English, as well as because he personally sees Momoyo as being bisexual, despite her telling us in the first visual novel that she is straight. In the first Maji game, there is a point in the story where Momoyo rejects a girl’s love, and tells her that she’s not a lesbian.
Here you can read, in the translator’s own words, why he deceded to make that change:

I sort of want to address the “bisexual” line because it’s clearly bothered a lot of people.
I very much much view Momoyo as being bisexual. I genuinely don’t think there’s a good way to view her character otherwise. When a character actively hits on women, and tells people she would go out with them if they were female, that’s the conclusion I’m drawn to.
Additionally, the literal translation of the line here is “I wouldn’t call myself a homosexual or anything…” This literal translation feels almost homophobic to me, in English, so I didn’t want to do the literal translation. With how increasingly flustered Ryuuzouji gets over the course of the conversation, I liked the feel of having her flatly say “Nah, I’m bi.” So that’s what I went with.
As for the line in the original Majikoi, I genuinely forgot about it. I’m not sure if we should take her statement at face value — I generally prefer to interpret characters according to their actions, rather than things they say — but had I remembered it, I would not have translated this line the way I did.
I have corrected that part of the translation to what it’s supposed to say in the original Japanese script. Below you can see the comparison.
Maji Translations – Left. Dialogue Uncensor Patch – Right.
- The patches **DO NOT WORK WITH STAND-ALONE VERSIONS OF THE VISUAL NOVELS**
- After playing A-1, and then starting A-2, you will be greeted with a pop-up screen which will be in Japanese. This will ask you if you want to transfer some of your settings from A-1 into A-2. If you choose ‘Yes’, you will see a menu in which you will need to select the visual novel which settings you want to transfer. After you select the desired visual novel, press the bottom left button and then click ‘Yes’ and then ‘Ok’ . The same thing will happen when you start A-3, A-4 and A-5. Simply repeat the before-mentioned steps.
- If the visual novels refuse to start, try excluding the extracted folder from your Antivirus software.
- The correct play-order for this series is as follows:
