v0.02 – Update
Very pleased to announce this release! Thanks to everyone for all your feedback. For the first week, I will be monitoring channels (itch, f95 and Discord) for feedback and will strive to release hotfixes within at most 24 hours.
This update adds one major quest to the game and one quest for each of the Decadence and Temperance routes. It all comes down to just shy of 100 new scenes, of which 18 have lewd content.
1. Gameplay
– Added the Drugs subsystem: Use Ephedra, Shemshehet (cannabis), Blue Lotus, and Opium to temporarily modify stats and needs (but be mindful of tolerance).
– Added the Juggling mini-game: Build the Juggling Chamber to unlock a new income source; performance-based rewards with diminishing returns.
– Added auto-feast functionality to the Kitchen.
– Added a mechanic to take water free of charge from the city’s Water Guilds.
– Multiple workers can now be assigned to a single construction project; construction time lowered across the board.
– Porter job revamped (1 Resilience requirement, lower rewards, limited to once per day).
– Added unique “poke” dialogue for all workers when they have nothing plot-relevant to discuss with you.
– Modified Sanctuary construction costs; changed standard material requirements from Reed to Straw.
– Parcel cost reduced from 200 to 125 deben.
– Added Set (Decadence) and Thoth (Temperance) with unique questlines (5 scenes each; Set will be lewd) to unlock them initiated via Amenhotep.
– Bisexuality and futanari have been added as opt-in sexual preferences.
2. Plot
– Added the Priestess of Isis questline (30 scenes including 9 lewd) which unlocks Tiset as a romance option.
– Added Kemhotep interactions (8 scenes) and expanded Tahira as a romance option (7 scenes including 3 lewd).
– Added Minmose (Scribe employee).
– Added a date sequence with Paneb (4 scenes).
– Added the Unclean Embalmer as a recurring visitor (10 scenes, up to 6 are lewd).
– The Chatty Scribe has now learnt The Satire of the Trades and will make it available for your reading pleasure if not turned away.
– The name of the priestess’ father is now consistently Naktharis.
3. Bug Fixes
– Wenennefer and Paneb no longer return to the Audience chamber multiple times.
– The Roof passage now loads correctly.
– Temple Stores tabs no longer disappear; added access via Temple Management.
– The Miracle of Osiris that was taking place at the Bakery making it require no grain to produce bread has been sadly undone.
– Ephedra Tea now correctly categorized under Drinks.
– Production tasks (Mudbrick, Bakery, House of Writing) now strictly require raw materials.
4. Miscellaneous/UX
– Replaced emoticons with hieroglyphs for worker happiness, wages, and class descriptions.
– Implemented initial mobile support (collapsible sidebars and adjusted layouts).
– Added a new preferences dialogue in the Bedroom (accessible after Tahira’s bath) to review fetishes and select preferences.
– New soundtrack implemented; soundtrack is now location sensitive. The new tracks are Desert City, Ibn Al-Noor and Mystery Bazaar by Kevin MacLeod.
– Changed default game font.
– Character creation sequence removed for the foreseeable future.

v0.01c – another tiny update for hotfixes:
1. Fixed sleep option on the roof.
2. Added more sleep options (sleep until 7AM and sleep for 2 hours).
3. Fixed the bug where workers would remain perpetually tired after being assigned to a construction task.
4. Ahmose now sells Ephedra Tea, a natural alternative to modern Ephedrine which instantly revitalizes a Tired worker.
5. Added a download option to Itch.io for playing outside of the embed.

v0.01b – a tiny update for hotfixes:
1. Modified the worker system:
– Wages are now required per 24 hours, not per shift, with workers being content with half of their wage if they did no work that day;
– Resources are now granted gradually – baseline once every hour – instead of upon task completion;
2. Ahmose now accepts Luxury Goods and sells Copper Tools instead of Bronze Tools (needed for Bakery).
3. The temple accountant now sells Gold.
4. New building: Wheat Field.
5. Vigor regenerate rate buffed by 10% (0.2 -> 0.22 per minute).
6. Vigor decay slightly reduced
– In case of one need critical (below 40%): (0.1 -> -0.08 per minute);
– In case of two needs critical (below 40%): (0.3 -> 0.25 per minute);
– In case of three needs critical (below 40%): (0.5 -> 0.4 per minute).
7. Fixed the option of taking a bath with Tahira not working once you increase your relationship with her above 10 points.
8. Slightly lowered Kemhotep’s daily wage (10 deben -> 8 deben).

Priestess of Ancient Desire is a historical life simulator created with great attention to realism and the setting detail. It offers two gameplay directions for the players to choose: the Temperance path is geared towards monogamous relationships (and/or consensual polyandry), while the Decadence path leans heavily into themes of corruption and free use.
All fetishes are strictly opt-in.
Feedback is currently the most important thing for me, so please don’t be shy to leave reviews with multiple pages – especially if they’re one star!
The most important development goals are implementing multiple gods – different deities for Temperance and Decadence – adding more characters (both temple workers and romance options) as well as more quests. Planned tags include:
