About the Game
Queens Of The Sea introduces a unique take on the adult visual novel and dating sim genres with a story told from the point of view of dual protagonists: Lieutenant John Silver of the Royal Navy and the young noblewoman Sarah Bonnet, who are captured by a pirate crew made entirely of women. The pair quickly find themselves in the middle of a power struggle between different crews and even Empires all fighting for control over the Bahamas, and both must choose who to put their trust in. In QotS, the player jumps between John and Sarah’s perspectives, guiding them both on their intertwining journeys with their own personal struggles and potential romantic partners. The game’s characters, setting and story are all heavily inspired by real history as well as popular pirate media.
This visual novel is the love-child of a couple with a passion for games, storytelling, beautiful 2D art and, of course, hot pirates.

Momentarily removed the option to censor NSFW imagery. (Currently seems a waste of development time given the nature of the game, might add back in if there is actual demand for it.)

Bug fixes:

Anne and Blackmane should now display their names correctly in replays.
Fixed the correct background not showing in “Peeping John” scene’s replay.
Added missing music in some replays.

Public release specific:

Added actual art for the three new collectibles instead of placeholders.
Added some new sound effects and music for Chapter 4.
Fixed a few typos and missing words in Chapter 4.

Added Chapter 3 to the game!
Slight alterations to a few of the existing character sprites (such as adding some pubic hair and piercings for Charlie).
Added new sparklier “Super Affection” icons for occasions where a character greatly appreciates a decision the player has made.
Added credits at the end of playable content.

Journal/UI

Fixed journal entries for the characters to be uniform in style.
Updated the character images on the journal pages to be a higher resolution.
Fixed the navigation buttons not working correctly on Sarah’s journal page.
Fixed the Close button not showing on John or Sarah’s journal pages.

Chapters 1&2

Added simple flash and screenshake effects to enhance “climactic” moments during previous intimate scenes with Anne.
Redid the old climax SFX and added new lewd sounds to a few scenes.
Fixed the affection icon not showing up when discussing the brothel fight with Jackie in Chapter 2.
Fixed some typos.
Probably other small changes that we can’t remember. (We haven’t kept a very organized list of all of them, which is something we’ll improve on going forward.)

What can you expect in this 0.1. release:

Chapters 1 – 2 of the story, lasting for ~ 1,5 – 2 hours for a single playthrough and with opportunities for replayability.

Introducing 2 playable main characters and a cast of 5 romanceable women (with at least one more planned for the next update).

Already a whole novel’s worth of script with nearly 60 000 words, including plenty of choices and alternative ways for events to play out.

Lovingly drawn 2D art for every character, the exotic locations you get to visit and 5 unique romance scenes. (No Generative AI is used for our game!)

Our Heroes

John

As a Lieutenant of the Royal British Navy, John Silver is an experienced sailor, strategist and swordsman born from humble origins. Unlike many of his fellow officers, he has had to work hard to earn his rank while attempting to distance himself from his shady past and create a new life of honourable duty. However, soon his whole world falls apart when he is captured by a crew of pirates.

Sarah

As the daughter and only living child of Lord Bonnet from the British colony of Barbados, Sarah has lived a sheltered life of luxury, barely ever leaving her home estate. Her whole life has been ruled by the strict hand of her father, who has arranged his daughter to marry an influential governor far away. Sarah’s adventurous soul desperately seeks an escape from her gilded cage, and when the ship transporting her to her husband is beset by a pirate crew of beautiful women, she sees her opportunity.

The Pirates

Anne

Anne Bonny might be only a year older than Sarah, but this feisty redhead of a pirate has already seen and experienced both a lot of hardship, betrayals and misadventures for her young age. Instead of discouraging her, they have turned Anne into a bold woman with a wild side who charts her own path, constantly seeking quick thrills and using her natural charms to her advantage. She is quick to anger and prone to finding trouble, and wherever there is sex, rum and other fun times to be had, Anne is most likely there too.

Jackie

Jacqueline Jackie Rackham is the crew’s quartermaster and madam of a brothel in Nassau. She is an intelligent leader and a skilled diplomat with both a sharp mind for business and a great deal of empathy for people. Perhaps out of all the pirates she cares the most about the well-being of their community and building up Nassau into more than just a hiding place for thieves. Unlike Anne or their captain, Jackie does not care for fighting or danger and prefers to settle matters peacefully whenever possible.

Charlie

Charlotte “Charlie” Vane is the fearsome and respected captain of the Lark. She is a brutal fighter with a long and successful career of piracy, marked by the many tattoos on her body, each one a memento from a captured prize or battles won. Loyalty and bravery mean everything to her, and she constantly seeks to prove herself as the strongest player in the New World.
