Temptation’s Ballad is a fairly linear visual novel in a D&D style medieval fantasy setting. Three idiots from vastly different backgrounds band together in an adventuring party to unravel the magical secrets within the city of Axia. Together, they battle demons, seduce locals, and learn a little about themselves along the way. And probably cause massive property damage.

Combed through the entire VN fixing instances where sprite animations could be interrupted by the reader skipping dialogue or clicking too quickly, causing unfortunate scenes like the one below. I’ve checked through every single scene in the VN to fix them one-by-one and I think I got them all, but let me know if you run into any I missed ;w;/
Massive sprite animation pass for Chapter 3. All character sprites now consistently perform a small flourish animation when speaking in accordance to their dialogue, as is consistent with my modern VN builds.
Diversified sound clip usage in Chapter 3 and reduced the instances of “surprise.ogg” from 105 to 33.
Massive bugfix sweep throughout the VN to fix miscellaneous instances where coding was slightly off, resulting in broken sound bytes or animations playing slightly incorrectly.
Grammar/typo fixes.
Adjusted the first conversation between Agatha and Calder in Chapter 3 to be slightly less antagonistic.
Sidd no longer bonks Calder on the head with a baguette after their little heart-to-heart in Chapter 4. He instead gently pokes him into his chair. It felt a little insensitive to hit the guy right after learning hints about his abusive background.

32 of Sidd’s sprites have been revised with clean lineart and cell-shading, along with nude versions of certain sprites.
Sidd’s sprites have been converted to WEBP files and reduced from 6.1mb to 1.8mb.

A notification sound and text occurs at the beginning of Chapters 2 and 4 to indicate that new episodes are unlocked in the Mini-Episodes menu.

The entirety of Chapter 2 has received a sprite animation pass. Character sprites should now move more dynamically in conversations, as you’ve seen in my more recent VN builds.
Blurs have been added to certain backgrounds to prevent them from clashing with sprite artwork.
Audio sting usage in Chapter 2 has been diversified. Instances of the “surprise.ogg” sound effect in this chapter has been reduced from 68 to 19.

The mini-episode thumbnails are now marked NSFW if applicable.
Mini-episode unlock triggers are now placed at the beginning of every chapter to make unlocking them less of a hassle. For example, simply starting Chapter 4 in the Chapter Select screen will immediately unlock all preceding episodes.
Agatha and Rosie’s sprites have been converted from PNG to WEBP files, reducing their file size footprint from 1381KB to 619KB.

Currently in the process of converting all the images in Temptation’s Ballad from PNG/JPEGs to WEBP files. This will drastically reduce the file size of the game for smoother downloads in future updates. All new art has been given this treatment, while older assets will be converted as more updates roll out.

Added a Replay button in the Gallery menu that allows you to replay select scenes throughout Temptation’s Ballad! The scenes are unlocked as you play through the story. I hope y’all enjoy this new feature, it was a pain in the ass for my smooth brain to code QWQ
Note: this feature is not retroactive and you may need to replay the story to unlock the scenes, even if you have current save files.
Sounds are now muted when skipping through scenes. Your eardrums will no longer get blasted to smithereens.
