The Beginning Of End is about an 18-year-old boy who studies at a high school in Japan with his sister and mother, he is a good student and has a girlfriend, so his life at the beginning is that of any young student, but as the story progress the protagonist will experience different situations that could direct your life to different results, so your fate is in the player hands.

STORY AND REPEATABLE EVENTS.
This section is the weakest of all, as the new content is almost non-existent, regarding the story, there are only two events with the mother, both related to the shooting route, for the protagonist’s girlfriend, I added an event, also related to the shooting route, for the sister, I added a single event that works for both the non-shooting confrontation route and the confrontation avoidance route, this covers the secondary events.
As I mentioned in my last post (on Patreon), I added more interactions with the available characters (for now only Hinata, Yui and Kiyoko), these interactions include small dialogues that are not very relevant to the story, but I thought it would be interesting to add them to each interaction, as I said, this is the weakest part, and frankly I’m a little disappointed in myself for adding so little content, but with what I’m about to explain, you’ll understand why there is so little new content.
GRAPHICAL QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT AND GUI.
  • Graphical Quality.
What I’m about to explain, as the title suggests, is the section about Graphical Quality, Environment, and GUI, I decided to improve the quality of the game to make it more visually appealing to players, so I updated the resolution from 1280×720 to 1920×1080, which includes everything from buttons to renders to videos, below I’ll show you some images so you can see the quality improvement:
  • Environment.
Regarding the environment, I added some melodies that I think fit the tone of the game, just in case, I would like to apologize because I am not very good at choosing music for ambient soundtracks, nevertheless, I did my best, in total I added 20 melodies, ranging from calm to sad tones, however, if you think I did a bad job in choosing the music, please don’t hesitate to let me know, and if you know a melody that would fit the game better, please share your recommendation, it would be a great help.
  • GUI
This part is short but important, in my opinion, I have improved the quick menu to make it easier to use on both computers and Android devices, the button layout looks like this:
There are three buttons on the left, the first, shaped like a gear, is used to access the game settings, the second button, with two triangles pointing to the right, is the skip button, the third button, with triangles pointing to the left, is the back button.

There are also three buttons on the right, the first button opens the save game screen, the second button opens the load game screen, and the button with the triangle pointing to the right activates the auto-play function.

I also added the gear button to the map so that you can access the game menu from anywhere, additionally, although it may be a little unnecessary, I rearranged the buttons, as you can see in the image below:

As an extra, I also improved the descriptions for accessing certain events in the task window as much as I could, as the previous descriptions were a bit confusing, if you still find some descriptions unclear, please let me know and I’ll work on improving them.

CODE.
As for the code, I improved the day and night system, now, no matter where you are on the map, you can advance the time without being redirected to the world map, another improvement I made was to the navigation button code that appears when you enter a location, I tweaked it mainly to make it easier for me to update in the future if changes to these buttons are needed, finally, I fixed the language selection window that appears when starting the game on Android devices, so that you can now choose the game language on startup.

That’s it for the code and visual improvements, now I’ll explain one last improvement I made to the game, which took me the most time to complete, I rewrote the entire translation of the game from scratch, as I mentioned before, English is not my native language, and I don’t speak it perfectly, as a result, the first translation felt a bit strange, as I had to rely on my limited knowledge of English, Google Translate, and ChatGPT, now, for this second version of the translation, I used a tool that helped me find grammatical errors in my work, I hope that this new translation is more understandable, still, if you find any part of the translation confusing, please let me know so I can try to revise it again.

This is everything I’ve changed in my game, as I said, the story hasn’t changed much, but I focused on fixing things that were necessary to improve the gameplay experience, if you decide not to download this version, I completely understand, and appreciate you taking the time to read everything I wrote, if you decide to download it, all I can say is thank you for taking the time to play the new content and read this entire bible.

One thing I must make clear is that, for obvious reasons, I recommend starting a new game to avoid any problems during gameplay. Thank you and see you soon!

Added to the story.
  • Added 4 events with the sister, one of these unlocks a memory, at the moment all the events are related to the shot that the MC received.
  • Added 2 events with the teacher, which at the moment are related to the shooting of the MC.
Gameplay improvements.
  • The mission system has been improved a little by this, I mean that in each event it shows you the points necessary for them to be completed, if in any event points are not shown it is because that event does not require them.

  • Levels in character stats already work, although at the moment they only work with Kiyoko regarding affection and she can only be raised up to level 1 with the respective 10 affection points.
Bug fixes and more.
  • Some minor errors corresponding to the previous version were fixed, if I’m honest I don’t remember the errors fixed so I can’t document them xD.
  • The Android version of the game is released, although due to a small problem that could not be corrected, the language change window at the beginning was removed, but only on Android, even so, the language can be accessed in the options(opciones) section.

  • As for the main story, an event with three routes was added to finish this event,
  • An event with the protagonist’s mother was added, which in turn adds an unlockable memory in the gallery.

Correction of grammatical and history errors.
  • As I explained previously, I made some corrections regarding the English translation of the game, although if you find any grammatical errors I apologize in advance since the English language is not my native language, so I would be very grateful if you point out the parts to me. in which there is some grammatical error.
  • Some parts of the dialogue from the first version were corrected, in order to give a little more congruence to the game’s narrative.
Technical additions to improve the game experience.
  • A task screen was added to make it easier for you to follow the game’s story, something to note here is that the last two events of the protagonist’s girlfriend will not appear and instead a text will appear that says work in progress, don’t worry, if you choose the correct path in the main story event, these events will be enabled on the task screen.
  • Added transitions between screens.
  • In the statistics screen two categories were added for the values, these categories are points and levels.
  • Added the option to make the text box visible from the game options.
  • A slightly thicker border was added to the letters, which goes hand in hand with the previous point, this to help people who have vision problems.
  • A delete button was added to the loading slot to facilitate deleting games.
