Since time immemorial, dense forests have covered the land of Kalabris to its farthest reaches.
These forests and their inhabitants have adapted to the many harsh biomes in each corner of the land.
Yet, with all corners of the map sporting perilous climes, by far the most dangerous wood of all lies in the center of Kalabris.

The Vastwood teems with abominations and horrors; twisting and writhing, bladed, spined, and razor-toothed, and all out for blood.
All of them exist as extensions of a greater Eldritch consciousness lurking in the dark heart of the Vastwood, an unspeakable creature called Eld.
How it came to inhabit those woods is a mystery, but its vile presence has warped the Vastwood into a nightmare forest, capable of reducing even the bravest soul to a quaking mess.

And yet… it is where our story begins… with an incomprehensible choice made by that ancient, stygian mind.
A choice to raise a young child as its own.

• Transitions are set to block raycasts again just so the odd fuckery can’t happen if people are spamming through scenes.

• Tiles replaced by map variables should no longer go dark/light independent of the rest of the map.
• Previously, people were still running into issues with unavailable characters (i.e. Gramps) showing up in the party whenever the party was actively expanded in a session. This has been fixed.

Bugs
• You can finally complete the “Craft the Ephemera Emblem” quest.
IMPORTANT: Please not that you no longer need to have the emblem equipped to enter Vel’phrinum Outpost and as long as you have the emblem in your inventory in ANY SAVE FILE, it will immediately play a cutscene with Melphi noting the the emblem has been crafted as soon as you load in. This will happen on any file in which the emblem has been crafted and is not a bug.
• Val not being added to the party if the mouse was on the far right side of the screen after the opening animation caused a lot of bugs (Karsis, Endora, Essil’s tutorials – null references and index out of range exceptions). These were hard to reproduce, since they only happened if the mouse was on the far right side of the screen at the end of the opening cutscene. This has been fixed.
NOTE THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE STARTED FROM NEW GAME TO FIX (DO NOT USE SAVES AFTER OPENING CUTSCENE)
• Fixed menuing inconsistencies: If you open a menu from the main menu, it should re-open the main menu when you close the menu either with hotkeys or the back button.
• Fixed exp headers in battle
• You can now click on the caves in the Silica Plains to travel if you are standing on the same tile, same with the teleporters in Vel’phrinum Outpost.
• Returning to the wurm from the cave system in Silica Plains 1 or the Balcony from Vel’phrinum Outpost should no longer crash the game if you subsequently travel to a different area.

Bugs fixed
• Harvesting notification error (new map revealed) has been fixed (probably)
• Switching trinkets and party member order while characters are disabled/deployed should now work properly
• Autosave will not automatically trigger and overwrite while loading a new file if Return to Base is on.
• Blood lotus petal now works (cannot be used in battle)
• UI elements and resolution issues.
Additional features
• You can now click on the signpost tile to move, just like the wurm
• You can right click anywhere while moving on the hexmap to stop moving
• Significantly decreased draw calls per frame
• Smaller size by refactoring all images
• You can directly release captives that have not been moved to Yeherinjar to free up space in the wurm.
• There is an option for rapid battles (3x speed) in the options menu
• Hex map camera can be manipulated with WASD, Z, X, and C keys.

Solved issues:

Added features:
• Affection scene indicators will show up regardless of what room in the cavern you are in, and will direct you to the correct room.
• Scenes that need an open pod will say so in dialogue or with a notification.

• Crunch compression was removed on the majority of images, which were instead compressed using an external tool to about 1/3-1/4th the size. Somehow the game ended up being its normal size uncompressed (7.4 GB) but is about 390 MB when compressed. I have no idea why this is the case, but I’m hoping the lack of crunch compression and smaller overall image size will lead to a more smooth and less resource-intense experience even if the game is bigger.
Balancing:
• Downgraded the extent to which presence overwrites spawns of native monsters. Previously it was with a factor of 3 (i.e. 30% presence would lead to 90% invading enemies on the map and 10% native). The factor has been reduced to 1.875.

• Bases should appear as normal and Luminiferous Forest should not longer spawn 4 bases unless your presence is extremely high. Bases that are currently there will not be removed though, so load a previous save or clear them out normally and reduce the presence so no more spawn.
• The bug resulting in the beginning quests not being possible to complete after dying and reloading should no longer occur.
• Euphoric buff should now reset Fear and Stress to zero on the same day in all instances.
• Information about captives in pods is viewable from the captures menu again now.
• Some issues related to using space bar to progress dialogue have been fixed

• Player should no longer retain their items in a new game after dying on an expedition.

• Piercers should now spawn on the Upper floors of the Outpost after Nyla has been captured.
• Mana potions should now work as intended.
• Reported typos were fixed, various other minor changes were made
